With offices in the City of Schenectady, New York, the Land Reutilization Corporation of the Capital Region (“Land Bank” or the “Corporation”) is a New York not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the revitalization of vacant, abandoned and underutilized land in the counties of Schenectady and Montgomery. Currently, the Land Bank partners with the Cities of Schenectady and Amsterdam and Schenectady County.
The Capital Region Land Bank is soliciting Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) from qualified interested parties to provide services for the asbestos abatement, demolition, and removal of selected structures located in the City of Schenectady, Schenectady County and the City of Amsterdam. The Land Bank is seeking experienced firms with a documented track record of successful completion of asbestos abatement and municipal demolitions within New York State. Structures to be demolished will primarily include structures that contain asbestos. The selected proposer for this bid must be willing to handle a large volume of demolitions with the experience and capacity to complete each demolition and removal of debris in a timely manner, without interruption, once each individual structure demolition is commenced, to be finalized in the contract with the Land Bank. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to demolish property with asbestos in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations as noted within this proposal, utilizing work safe practices in line with NYS, OSHA and City Ordinances.
This RFQ will include standard specifications for demolition and asbestos abatement work proposed, as well as the technical drawings and information specific to each property. This RFQ is a solicitation for qualifications and not an offer of a contract. The Land Bank’s Board of Directors will evaluate the RFQs submitted and may award, as determined by the Board of Directors in its sole discretion, one or more contracts to successful respondent(s). All RFQs will become part of the Land Bank’s files without any obligation on the Land Bank’s part. The Land Bank reserves the right to supply the contractor with additional demolition and abatement work on the same terms, and will provide the technical specifications for additional structures to be demolished or abated in the next phase of work.

Questions sent or delivered to any other individual may not be considered for response. If any prospective Respondent finds discrepancies or omissions or there is doubt as to the true meaning of any part of this RFQ, a written request for a clarification or interpretation shall be submitted to the Corporation only at the above address. In turn, the Corporation shall notify to all candidates of record such clarifications.
